Ideal Protein has been a Godsend to me. My schedule is insane and I never know where I will be when it's time for meals. Ideal makes it so easy. I just carry around a few different meal choices in my bag and I'm ready to go at any time. I can get the veggies from a salad bar, from a fast food restaurant salad, or from the grocery store - no matter where I am I can stick to the diet with no problem. I've lost 6lbs in 2 weeks AND over 5% of my body fat. Pairing this diet with my workout regime has proven to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. Every day I feel better about myself, every day it's easier to look in the mirror and like what I see. Dr J makes everything so easy. He is a constant source of support and is there celebrate with you when the pounds come off. His positive attitude and motivational spirit make it almost impossible to fail.

I just wanted to tell you how thrilled I am with Ideal Protein. I've never been able to stick with any prescribed diet- but for some reason, it's been really easy this time around. First off I want to thank you for helping me work to and attain my weight loss goal. To be honest when we first sat down and you asked me "What weight were you happiest at in your life?" I told you and remember thinking that you were crazy. There was no way I could ever be that weight again because that is what everyone else told me. Well now 6 weeks later and 30 lbs, with maybe only 10 to go, I am completely amazed. Your system is hands down the easiest system to follow that I have ever done. I am feeling the best I have in as long as I can remember. I am constantly on the go and I have been able to stick to the program without a problem. I have even noticed that I feel so good I don't even want to cookies and fatty food. I have 2 children who love the fact that Dad can play with them for as long as they want and doesn't have to take breaks to get his wind. Anyone who wants to feel great and get healthy you have to do the system. You owe it to yourself to fell and look great. If you have anyone who wants to speak with me on the system I would be glad to do so. It is the least I can do for what you have done for me.

Initially I was very skeptical about the plan, especially since it seemed like just another system that would be a temporary fix; that is, as soon as you got off it, you would gain the weight back. I couldn’t have been more incorrect. To me, the best thing about the plan is the education you get about how your body works, and what it (really) needs nutritionally to function properly. Especially, what it does not need. I take away from the plan a complete change in my diet, so I will sustain the weight loss.
My first three days were atypical. I did not experience any of the side effects or bad feelings the plan prepares you for. I didn’t feel great, just no worse or better. However, after week 2, I had dropped 10+ lbs, and had more energy than before I started. I began to sleep better, and through the night. I embraced the hydration angle, consuming as much as 100 ounces of water a day. After that, it really was a breeze. I experimented with the foods, mixing up my order each time.
I have dropped almost 50lbs, and am in the maintenance phase now. I am exercising 4-5 times per week, and have noticed a marked difference in my body composition. My go to snacks are almonds, celery, pickles, oranges and maybe some turkey or chicken deli meat. Gone are the handfuls of M&Ms, or the sleeve of Oreos. Don’t get me wrong, I have had my indiscretions, but they are the decided exception, no longer the rule.
I find it hard now to consume 2000 calories, when my norm before was probably 3,000+, and I would go to bed hungry! Those days and feelings are gone. I have dropped almost 5 inches off my waist (38 to a 33), and had to buy a whole new wardrobe. It is a good problem to have. My kids and I packed my old clothes up and brought them to Goodwill. My son told me that if I knew they were still available, I would eat enough to make them fit again, so we got rid of them.
At the end of it, it is not just the plan, but it is the education and the learned discipline that enables me to stay smart when I eat. Do I miss the junk? There are times, but when you look at what goes into them stuff, you wonder why you would want to put that in your body.
I haven’t felt this good physically since freshman year in college.
